Refurbished laptops and IT gear

Everything in the shop has been wiped, opened up, repaired where it needed it, and tested. Cosmetic condition is graded in the listing — we photograph the scratches, not just the good side. Stock changes as it comes through.

02 — Clear out

Equipment you’re finished with

An office upgrade, a business closing down, or a cupboard of dead laptops nobody wants to deal with. Tell us roughly what you have and how much of it. Depending on condition and volume we’ll either pay you for it or take it away at no cost.

The part that matters

Erased with Blancco, before anything else happens to it.

Every storage device that comes through kaliko.au is wiped with Blancco — the erasure software used by banks, hospitals and government departments. It doesn’t just delete the files. It overwrites the drive and then verifies that the overwrite actually worked.

Refurbishment

What happens between wiping and selling

Once a device is clean, it gets stripped, cleaned properly and tested. Battery health, ports, keyboard, screen, fans. Anything with a fault is repaired or parted out for the next machine.

What’s left gets listed honestly. If the lid is scuffed, the photo shows the scuff. If the battery holds 82% of its original capacity, the listing says 82%.

We also rekey keyboards for other languages, which comes up more often than you’d think.

We know where everything came from

Every item is checked for ownership and serial number before we take it in, and we keep the records. We don’t buy from people who can’t tell us where it came from. That isn’t a marketing line — handling stolen equipment is how a refurbisher gets shut down.

Our story

Letting go well is part of working well.

kaliko.au exists for moments of transition — when devices are retired, systems are restructured, or roles change. We help people part with technology intentionally, and redirect it somewhere it can still do some good.

The company started in 2026, though the work isn’t new to us. It grew out of years spent refurbishing and reselling IT equipment, and the habits came with it: wipe everything properly, test everything, tell people the truth about condition.

Not every laptop needs to end up forgotten in a drawer, or thrown out in a rush. Australia discards an enormous amount of working technology. We’re trying to intercept some of it.

kaliko.au is the sister company of Komno, a Perth consultancy that helps organisations enter new markets. The two share a habit: check everything, and be straight about what you find. The name joins them: quali and ko, with qu written as k, the way French pronounces it.

Being new means we’re not asking you to take our word for anything. Ask for a sample erasure report before you commit.
